Schoolreaders (by Penny Hubbard, Norfolk County Ambassador)
Schoolreaders is calling for volunteers to give an hour a week supporting local primary pupils’ reading, as part of the Government’s National Year of Reading. The charity already works in 57 Norfolk schools, offering free training, DBS checks and ongoing support to anyone with a good grasp of English — no teaching background needed. Home, Residential and Sheltered Library Service
A free “books on wheels” service run by Royal Voluntary Service volunteers delivers library books monthly to housebound residents unable to reach a branch, tailored to their reading preferences and available in large print or audio.
